Function Room Hire in Edinburgh

Malones Edinburgh near Haymarket has a brand new function room, perfect for larger private events. We have 2 spaces that can fit up to 150 and 250 people respectively, and our central location makes us easy to get to via train, tram or bus. 

Malones Leith is also a great option. There is a private function room that can be hired for up to 40 people standing in their Mezzanine area. Other areas of the bar can also be sectioned off and hired for private events. It's easy to reach thanks to its location right on The Shore tram stop.

Yes, there are a few options that may be required depending on the size, scale and date/time of your booking.

An upfront deposit may be required. This is redeemable against your bill on the night.

For very large groups, we may agree a minimum spend (an amount that you and your group will agree to spend on the night) with you to confirm your booking.

Finally, for full venue takeovers we may require a displacement fee.

We will advise you on if there is a deposit or other type of commitment required to confirm your booking when you enquire.

Absolutely you can - we welcome parties, of 40, 20, and 4s regularly.

The Raglan Room can fit up to 150 people standing.

The upstairs bar can fit up to 250 people standing.

When you enquire, we'll advise you on the best space for your private event based on your numbers and what you are looking for.

Larger bookings of over 100 people can have exclusive use of either The Raglan Room or The Upstairs Bar.

Smaller functions will still have a brilliant time here while sharing the space with a small number of other guests.

For large bookings that don't have need of a private space, such as a booking of 20, we can happily push together several tables in one of our spaces for you to use.

For standard bookings of 8 people or less, please use our instant online booking page.

Generally speaking, you will have 7 working days to cancel your function room booking without penalty.

You can alternatively move your booking to another date without a fee, assuming your new date is available. 

Yes, under-18s are welcome in our venue and in the function room for events until 8pm, so long as they are accompanied with an adult.

Yes, our entire venue as well as our function room is dog-friendly.

We do, however, ask you to consider the safety and comfort of any dogs at your event before you tell guests it's dog-friendly. For larger-scale events, you may prefer to ask guests to leave their dogs at home.

You certainly can! 

• Our buffet menu is perfect for serving larger parties and is available on request.
• Canapés are available and are perfect for corporate events or weddings.
• For smaller groups, our standard A La Carte menu is available.

Of course you can! We have a number of drinks packages available for private functions, including wine packages, beer buckets and more. Let a member of our team know if you would be interested in this when enquiring.

Yes, both function rooms in Edinburgh have plenty of tech in them, including a stage for presenters, a sound system & microphones for speeches, projectors, and multiple Ultra HD TVs.

You can use the tech however you wish, including for presentations or photo album loops. Just let us know what you're looking for and we can organise it for you.

Yes, of course you can. Just let us know and we can organise a date and time for you to come in - or feel free to pop in for a pint and take a gander yourself.

Yes, you can bring a cake for your function and can drop it off on the day of your event. Please do let us know in advance if you're going to do this.

Yes, you can decorate however you please. Please note, we strictly do not allow any confetti or items filled with confetti (if you've ever spent years cleaning confetti out of your house then you'll understand!)

We can also organise for you to come in early to decorate, so long as the room is free beforehand. We can confirm this with you closer to the time.

Yes, we are happy for other businesses / sole traders to book the space and sell tickets. 

We will not take a commission if you do this, and we are happy to look at including drinks packages or drinks tokens for your guests. You can cover your costs by including this in the price of your ticket.

If you do not want a drinks package included, then we do ask that you encourage guests to order drinks from our bars so that we all benefit from the event.

We are happy to support with marketing as well. If you supply us with artwork, then we can create a page on our popular Events section that will link users to your ticketing platform. We are also happy to reshare any content that you tag us in.

Yes, we do allow this for very large events. Please let us know if this would be of interest when enquiring.
